We can’t believe that we only knew Rob for four years, we really feel like we have known him all our lives. Rob was always the life and soul of the gang in St. Gervais and was solely responsible for pulling at least four groups of people together who shared in the common love of the mountains and all they had to offer. The sad thing for us all is that it just will never be the same without him, his excited enthusiasm rubbed off on every one of us and we will all be the poorer for his loss. In four years he somehow managed to accelerate his position to equal the bond that we had nurtured and grown up with over a lifetime with Jim, Dennis, Mike and Tony, we didn’t need anyone else - but we hadn’t met Rob! Before we knew what had happened he was in and running the gang and we loved it because he brought with him more fun, laughter, motivation and when he was with us socially or on the mountain he had the capacity to lift us all. We are all devastated to think we are never going to sit around his table again or follow his ‘whoop whooping’ down the piste. All I can say is that we are better people for having known him and we will never forget the smile that lit up his face, his school boy mischievousness, his unwavering positivity, his zest for life, his generosity and his unconditional friendship - he truly was a special human being.
